My Journey into Health Coaching

My passion for nutrition and health coaching was shaped by my own experiences. I started my working career in advertising and marketing but soon realised that my real fascination was with people, not products. After becoming a mum, I retrained as a counsellor and psychotherapist, and I have dedicated over 20 years to supporting individuals and families in both the NHS and private practice.

Over this time, I have:
✔️ Trained counsellors and therapists
✔️ Published my work on mental health and wellbeing
✔️ Recorded therapy training films and podcasts
✔️ Become a full member of the UK & International Health Coaching Association (UKIHCA) and the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

However, my biggest transformation came when I faced my own health struggles.

Why I became a health coach

There’s a common myth that therapists and coaches have perfectly balanced lives—but that’s far from reality. My own physical health issues, including an early peri/menopause, left me struggling for years. Despite numerous medical consultations, I couldn’t find the answers I needed.

Although I had always kept up an exercise routine, it wasn’t enough, and I finally discovered real relief through a whole-food approach to nutrition and key lifestyle adaptations. The results were life-changing. This inspired me to deepen my knowledge—not just to support my own health but also to help my family and others facing similar challenges.

How I help as a health coach

Now, as a certified Nutrition & Health Coach, I aim to help my clients:
✔️ Boost energy levels and sleep patterns
✔️ Manage hormonal imbalances, peri/menopause, and gut health
✔️ Balance stress-related health concerns
✔️ Create sustainable nutrition and lifestyle changes
✔️ Develop a balanced, whole-food diet tailored to their needs

The link between mental and physical health in coaching

As a psychotherapist, I quickly realised that physical health, mental wellbeing, and overall happiness are deeply connected. To help my clients make sustainable, lasting changes, I saw the need to support not just their psychological health but also their nutrition and lifestyle choices.

This realisation led me to combine my expertise in psychotherapy with my training in health and wellbeing. The result is RESET—a unique model I developed to guide my nutrition and health coaching clients towards achieving balanced, sustainable health transformations.
